James has been involved in many aspects of the 18th century field. He has been in many historical documentaries Including:

• George Washingtons First war (Paladin Film)
• Opening the Door west ( Shellburne films)
• Test filming for the War That made America (PBS)
• James has also made numerious items for documentaries,Pennsylvanias Historical Society, Bushy Run battlefield, Old Stone House, Clark County Historical society (Virgina).
• James Is also a member of the Contemporary Longrifle Association.
• James was also featured as the cover art on the book "Wilderness War on the Ohio", written by Al Fitzpatrick.
• James has made numerious reproductions for and also featured in many artist paintings, Including:
